THE CHIOS FESTIVAL
THE CHIOS FESTIVAL originated from our need to express our love, admiration and gratitude for what the famous island has given to Greece, Europe and the whole world.
Chios is well known for its heroic past, the shipping industry and the masticha. But for us, Chios is much more than that and our goal is to highlight the island s true spirit, its unique character and the cultural wealth of its inhabitants .
Moreover, Chios is the motherland of a plethora of important politicians, scholars, entrepreneurs and benefactors of Greece and Europe to whom THE CHIOS FESTIVAL would like to humbly pay tribute considering the Chian mind as part of the world’s intellectual elite, blending past and future together, in a creative effort to experience, celebrate and enjoy music, art, history, science, sports, local tradition and gastronomy.
THE CHIOS FESTIVAL includes series of thought- provoking speeches showcasing an outstanding lineup of international luminaries offering unique perspectives on key issues shaping our world today and into the future.
We see the Festival as an intellectual celebration of the Hellenic mind and vibrant soul blending past and future together, in a creative effort to experience and celebrate, music, art, history, science, sports, gastronomy and folk dancing, reminding the world of the glory of Chios.

FESTIVAL VENUES
Medieval villages of unique architecture, historical sites, beautyfull landscapes, Castles, Lovokomeio and -above all- the legendary Myrovolos Kambos are the settings of THE CHIOS FESTIVAL .
The “Cultural Evenings” of the Festival take place at Casteli, the 15th century historic mansion surrounded by a magnificent orchard with flowers and citrus trees, a mixture of fairytale beauty, spring colors and aromas of a bygone era.
This residence, once home to the “Castellano,” the military Governor of Chios, is owned by the N. Vafias family and was recently restored under the supervision of the Chios Ephorate of Antiquities.
