THE CHIOS FESTIVAL
Chios is an island with unique character, a four thousand year old history that defines a whole nation and a blend of rich cultures reflecting fascinating traditions that have been kept sacredly alive over the centuries, unspoiled by tourism, untouched by globalization.
Chios Festival originated from our need to express our love, admiration and gratitude for what the famous island has given to Greece, Europe and the whole world.
Chios is well known for its heroic past, the shipping industry and the Mastiha resin.
Yet the goal of Chios Festival is to highlight the island’s true spirit, its character and cultural wealth of its inhabitants with their warm hospitality.
We see the Festival as an intellectual celebration of the Hellenic mind and vibrant soul blending past and future together, in a creative effort to experience and celebrate history, science, music, art, sports, gastronomy and folk dancing, reminding the world of the glory of Chios.
