Ο Αντώνης Φαράκλας είναι Managing Director των εταιρειών Charterwell Maritime S.A. και Chartworld Shipping Corporation, οι οποίες ιδρύθηκαν το 1972 και το 1992 αντίστοιχα, θέση που κατέχει από το 1980. Με υπόβαθρο στη Μηχανολογία Ναυτικού, διαθέτει άμεση και ουσιαστική γνώση τόσο των τεχνικών όσο και των εμπορικών πτυχών της λειτουργίας των εταιρειών. Υπό την ηγεσία του, η επιχείρηση εξελίχθηκε από μια μικρή οικογενειακή ναυτιλιακή εταιρεία των αρχών της δεκαετίας του 1980 σε έναν σημαντικό και πολυδιάστατο οργανισμό διαχείρισης πλοίων όπως είναι σήμερα.
Ο κ. Φαράκλας είναι κάτοχος πτυχίου (BSc) Μηχανολογίας από το University of Sussex και μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου (MSc) στη Ναυτιλιακή Τεχνολογία από το University of Strathclyde. Τον Ιούλιο του 2023 τιμήθηκε στα Efkrantis Awards με το βραβείο «Manager of the Year 2022».
Παράλληλα, συμμετέχει ενεργά σε πλήθος επιτροπών και οργανισμών του ναυτιλιακού κλάδου, συμβάλλοντας με την εμπειρία και τη γνώση του στις εξελίξεις της βιομηχανίας. Είναι μέλος τεχνικών επιτροπών σημαντικών νηογνωμόνων και οργανισμών του IACS, ενώ μεταξύ άλλων έχει διατελέσει ή διατελεί:

Antonios Faraklas, has been the Managing Director of Charterwell Maritime S.A. and Chartworld Shipping Corporation, established 1972 and 1992 respectively, since 1980. Of a Marine Engineering background himself, he has a close follow up and primary hands-on view for the technical and commercial aspects of the companies. He has led the company through its evolution from the small family shipping company it was in the early 80’s to the major diversified Management Company that it is today. Mr. Faraklas holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Sussex University and an MSc in Marine Technology from Strathclyde University. In July 2023 he was honored at the Efkrantis Awards with the award for “Manager of the Year 2022”.
He sits on several committees such as through which he contributes to the industry with his knowledge and insight to industry developments. He is member to Technical Committees to all major IACS Classification societies and organizations as follows:
