Thursday, August 29th, 2024, was an evening dedicated to Kampos, held at the “Argentikon” estate as part of the 3rd Chios Festival, organized by the North Aegean Region.
The historic and iconic “Argentikon,” with its unparalleled gardens, welcomed a large crowd that responded to the invitation of the North Aegean Region and the Byron Tomazos family, literally filling the estate’s courtyard.
Official Greetings
The Regional Governor, Konstantinos Moutzouris, welcomed the attendees. In his brief address, he emphasized the significance of Chios’ Kampos, stating:
”It is precious not only for Chios but for all of Greece.”
He then expressed his gratitude to the Byron Tomazos family for hosting such a unique evening.
Highlights of the Event
The event at the magnificent and hospitable “Argentikon” Mansion was coordinated and presented by well-known journalist Christos Nezos.
Andreas Lagos: The famous chef gave a captivating presentation on the PDO Chian Tangerine, receiving enthusiastic applause.
Byron Tomazos: Mechanical engineer and author, served as the keynote speaker. He delved into the history of Kampos and “Argentikon,” sharing memories and unpublished stories of the past that kept the audience’s interest piqued throughout.
Music & Gastronomy
The evening continued with a wonderful concert by the renowned group Operatical, featuring exceptional performances.
To conclude the event, guests were treated to traditional Chian appetizers accompanied by Tetteris ouzo and liqueur.
